That was not a big loot anyway but was good enough for me. Getting loot can be a problem for a lot of clashers. If you ask me how to get more loot, I will tell you 4 things.
1. Try to be in the Silver League.
2. Attack The Collectors
3. Utilize Archer and Barbarians only while attacking for loot.
4. Use different servers.
Try to be in the Silver League
This is a well known technique among the clash of clans players. When you will reach higher leagues, you will find it really hard to get enough loot after covering the cost of troops creation. As you will upgrade your town hall to level 7, 8, 9 and 10 (probably town hall 11 is coming also) you will find the upgrade cost is huge. If you stay any of the leagues of Silver I, II or III, you are likely to get a lot of villages to get loot from and guess what? you can get those loots by not attacking the whole village but only by destroying the Elixer and Goldmine collectors.
Attack The Collectors
A lot of players takes a break while playing the game but their village is always active and their collectors are also working 24 hours. Search for those bases which contains the collectors filled with golds and elixers. Destroy them with your troops and get the loot.
Things to remember: Make sure the available loot is good enough and the storages are empty. If the storages are full, you are not likely to get enough loot from them. If you see storages are empty but showing enough loot, it means all those are in collectors.
Utilize Archers and Barbarians only while attacking for loot
When you are going for a loot, you must make sure you do not spend too much on troops. So, if you are seeking for loots, train archers and barbarians only. They can be created with minimum elixer and they can effectively provide you some good loot. As discussed previously, you are going to attack the collectors only not the whole villages. Find those villages which have got their collectors exposed and destroy them with your archers and barbarians. Take a look the picture above again and you will see I have destroyed all the collectors at the edge of the wall.
Use different servers
(I am not 100% sure about this trick but you can try) This is not a very well known trick among the clashers. Other than English there are 14 more languages available in Clash of Clans. I get to know that each and every one them runs in different server.
Being in the silver league, I still found myself sometimes searching for hours to get enough loot. You can experience the same. In that case, try to change the language and search for loot again. Who knows? It may work for you.
Point to be noted: I am not telling that you should not try to reach higher leagues. Of course you will but it is better to get into higher leagues after you make proper upgrade of you village.
